The 2nd Microelectronics Agenda Congress, with the motto ‘Building the Future’, was attended by over 150 people.
It began with a performance by LPSTUDIO, which sought to show that technology is powered by us humans and is present in our daily lives in the most diverse forms, including art and culture.
The event continued with the opening session in the presence of the Mayor of Aveiro, José Ribau Esteves, followed by Dr Afonso Duarte, Delegate and National Contact Point for Horizon Europe (Digital, Industry and Space Cluster) at the National Innovation Agency, who presented different challenges and opportunities for Portugal in the microelectronics and semiconductor sector.
This was followed by a presentation of the results of the Microelectronics Agenda by Antonio Barny Monteiro, Senior Manager of R&D at Amkor Technology Portugal S.A, and to close the first part, Rui Lopes, Chairman of the Board of Inova-Ria – Association of Companies for an Innovation Network in Aveiro, presented the Microelectronics Agenda Observatory platform.
In the second part of the II Microelectronics Agenda Congress, we had the participation of Francisco Manuel Ruivo Rodrigues, CEO of PICadvanced, who showed us the paths of Innovation and Industrialisation in Photonics and Microelectronics, with the participation of Célio Albuquerque, representative and Vice President of Engineering at Synopsys Inc., Paulo Freitas, Director of INESC Microsistemas e Nanotecnologias and to close the event, the presence of Dr Alexandra Vilela, Executive Member of the National Innovation Agency (ANI).
It was a dynamic congress, sharing ideas and progress on the Microelectronics Agenda in Portugal. The Microelectronics Agenda Congress was one of the Tech Sessions of Aveiro Tech Week, an initiative organised by Aveiro City Council – Aveiro Tech City.
