Portugal has been recognised as one of Europe’s most attractive industrial destinations, reinforcing its competitiveness in attracting investment in strategic sectors such as the semiconductor industry.
According to a McKinsey study, factors including access to competitively priced renewable energy, growing industrial investment, a highly skilled workforce and strong innovation capabilities make Portugal an increasingly attractive location for high-value-added industries. The report also identifies semiconductors as one of the key sectors for strengthening Europe’s industrial competitiveness.
This recognition further highlights Portugal’s potential to strengthen its position within the semiconductor value chain, creating favourable conditions for attracting new investment, fostering technological development and enhancing the national innovation ecosystem.
