The Portuguese Semiconductor Competence Center, led by INL (Poems), is a project made up of a Consortium of 16 national entities. It aims to strengthen production in this area by increasing companies’ capacity for innovation and training new professionals.
Developed under the European Chips Act program, designed to increase Europe’s competitiveness in the field of technologies and semiconductors, Poems is 50% funded by the European Commission and another 50% by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). In Portugal, the project is led by the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, where the first official meeting was held. It includes entities from the scientific-technological system, universities and research centers.
