The European Union has approved €700 million in funding for NanoIC, the largest pilot line established under the European Chips Act, with the aim of accelerating the development of next-generation semiconductors and strengthening Europe’s technological autonomy.
This strategic investment will boost innovation, applied research and Europe’s industrial capacity in a sector considered critical for economic competitiveness, the digital transition and the European Union’s technological sovereignty.
NanoIC thus assumes a central role in the European microelectronics ecosystem, contributing to reduced external dependencies and to the strengthening of European value chains in advanced semiconductor technologies.
