Brussels representative praised the National Strategy for Semiconductors

Brussels representative Marco Ceccarelli, head of programs at the European Commission, praised the National Strategy for Semiconductors, which includes a financial envelope of 121 million euros over the next four years, for meeting the goals set by the EU to increase its share of the global chip market.

The recently announced National Strategy for Semiconductors is committed to boosting the microelectronics and semiconductor industry in Portugal by formulating guidelines and creating mechanisms to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity and research and development at national level, as well as promoting synergies with international partners and participating in programs dedicated to the sector at European level.

By 2030, 43 billion euros of public investment is expected to be mobilized, with the aim of doubling the EU’s share of the global semiconductor market.
