The Microelectronics Agenda, co-financed by the PRR, was highlighted at SEMICON Europa 2025, held in Munich from 18 to 21 November, where it showcased the consortium’s technological capabilities and results to the international semiconductor industry.
Under the theme “Global Collaborations for European Economic Resilience”, this year’s edition reinforced the importance of global partnerships for Europe’s competitiveness, a principle aligned with the work carried out by the Agenda. At booth C1.649, representatives from AIDA CCI, PCI and INESC MN presented innovative products and technologies, including advanced electronic boards, telecommunications modules, microfabricated wafers and photonic transceivers for next-generation networks.
Throughout the event, the team also took part in strategic conferences dedicated to advanced packaging, sustainability in semiconductor manufacturing, MEMS & imaging sensors, and smart mobility. Discussions covered topics such as 3D integration, circularity, AI applied to production, manufacturing efficiency, and trends that will impact sectors such as healthcare, automotive, IoT and telecommunications.
The presence of the Agenda generated strategic contacts with companies, investors and international research centres, strengthening opportunities for collaboration and internationalisation. Portugal continues to establish itself as a key player in European microelectronics, contributing high-value technological solutions and promoting a more sustainable and innovative industry.
